Network Prerequisites for CloudVoice Deployment
VLANS
Switching infrastructure must be able to support multiple VLANS. Suggested VLANS are: (1) Voice, (1) Data, (1) Video (If applicable) and any additional VLANS as required by CLIENT.
Quality of Service
Switching, Routing and Firewall infrastructure must be able to support QoS. Suggested QoS configurations are:
- QoS across all routers, switches and firewalls
- DSCP EF = RTP Traffic
- COS 5 = RTP Traffic
- DSCP AF31 = Control (SIP)
- COS 3 = Control (SIP)
Layer 3
Voice VLANS must be able to route between each other and the internet
DHCP
Local DHCP distribution at each location
DNS
Local or Internet must be available
Bandwidth
Each concurrent call requires 80k of bandwidth
Network Drops
A network drop/power outlet must be within 6’ of each phone location or longer patch/power cables must be provided by CLIENT. (Power requirement is only for phones that won’t utilize POE switches)
Content Filtering
Disable content filtering for traffic with a destination of 74.213.137.0/24 and 66.51.147.0/24
Firewall
Disable SIP ALG on Firewall - Make sure that any SIP ALGs, SIP Helpers, or SIP Proxy Actions are disabled in the firewall, our platform handles those tasks itself and those features generally cause problems.
Firewall Ports
The following ports must opened for outbound communication to 74.213.137.0/24 and 66.51.147.0/24:
Protocol | Port | Description |
---|---|---|
TCP | 80 | HTTP |
TCP | 443 | HTTPS |
TCP | 5060-6021 | SIP |
UDP | 5060-6021 | SIP |
UDP | 16384-32768 | RTP |
UDP | 123 | NTP |
